Last week I had my physical for the adoption homestudy. I left with three referrals. One for the gyno for my pap. I saw that one coming and quite frankly needed it. Two was for the dermatologist for some unusual moles on my back. Didn’t see that one coming. I guess I wouldn’t since it was on my back and I don’t have eyes back there. Three was for the ortho for my knee. Remember in June when I fell over Othello and landed on my knee? Yeah, me too. Good times. Anyway, it hasn’t been bothering me but it is still bruised and I can’t kneel on it. The dr. fears I may have cracked my knee cap. The x-ray was inconclusive so he wants an MRI.
| You can’t get blood from a turnip or my arm. Luckily you can get it from my hand and then wrap my hand up like a wounded paw. |
Speaking of my knee – I said in my 40 to 40 that I would do a 5K per month for the next year. When I went to Atlanta a few weekends ago, I planned to do a 5K. However, my knee was acting up that morning and I knew I couldn’t do it. But last Wednesday I was feeling pretty good so I decided to make up my own rules. I said I would do a 5K. Does it really have to be in an official race? Nope…errr…I don’t think so anyway. So I did a 5K on the treadmill. I couldn’t remember if a 5K was 3.1 or 3.2 so I ran to 3.3. I didn’t want anyone to say I didn’t give it my all. First 5K of 12 – done!
| I know it is blurry. I was still walking making my way to 3.3. |
In more 40 to 40 tasks I have completed several more. For Netflix films, we saw Sherlock Holmes and Inception. In related news, we lowered our Netflix subscription. Annoyed at their new policy but glad to save money.
Our July hike was at Fort Pulaski and we about got eaten alive by skeeters. It did give me the opportunity to use my GoGirl which I will be writing about later.
I talked with several old friends in July and really enjoyed the reconnecting. For August I hope to call some relatives.
In September, we are planning a road trip up and down the East Coast which will give me the opportunity to visit places significant to my genealogy. So excited! I am willing to listen to anyone’s opinion on places to visit, places to go and goodies to eat in SC, NC,VA, DE, MD, NJ, NY, CT, RI, MA and possibly NH,VT and ME. I am in full planning mode.
Oh, my peeps, I missed you. Well, I kind of miss myself as well. When something is bothering me I tend to use avoidance. My move to WP is bothering me and I have taken to avoiding blogging. Silly – I know. Give up the thing I love to avoid the headache. I guess I moaned and groaned about it too much and my hubby decided to help me plow threw this in the next week. I hope to unveil the new site by my blogoversary this month.
What are you winning at this summer? Did you complete some big life goals or manage the record number of days sitting by a pool in one summer? Where have all the bloggers gone?

Hmmm. I wonder if I didn't MAKE any goals for July, whether it means that I completed them and am therefore successful. What do you think? #aiminglow
Kudos on 5k! I'll never make it!
And, fyi, if you need any help with the move, just holler. Moving sucks, but afterwards, it's smooth sailing!
Well done Junebug and glad to see you back!
Congrats on your first 5k…way to go – and you're DEFINITELY the winner even if you're the only one in the race
Glad to see you back
Job well done. Sounds like a productive month! Congrats on that 5K.

Damn girl, I really hope your kneecap is NOT cracked. Yikes.
You are awesomeness for running a 5K. I am very impressed – especially WITH your knee issues.
Congrats on completing all of your July goals. You rock.
I seriously hope I get to meet you in Real Life when you swing through NJ in September!
You set GOALS & even work & reach them! I'm impressed!!! You ROCK!
When you click on your buttons (right side), am I supposed to see anything? they don't take me anyplace. not that I need to go anyplace! just curious.
Very hard to get blood from me, too. But CONGRATULATIONS on the 5k, and whether it's a race of many or a race of one it is still a wonderful achievement (though, be careful with that knee cap!!). Congrats on completing all your July goals.
