This past weekend we attended the best 1st birthday party! It was all my husband’s co-workers and spouses. Two couples are from Spain, one couple is 1/2 Spain and 1/2 Cambodian, another couple is 1/2 Turkish and 1/2 German. We were the only couple whose first language was English. The birthday boy was from the Spain/Cambodian couple. We sang Happy Birthday in English, Spanish and German. However, it turns out I embarressed my husband as usual.
Talking with the German husband:
Me: ”What do you do?”
German: ”I work for a German music label.”
Me: “Oh! Do you represent David Hasselhoff?”
German: ((chuckles)) “No, we don’t.”
Later:
Husband: ((shaking head in shame)) ”I can’t believe you asked that.”
Me: ”Totally legit question! They love the Hoff in Germany!”
The Turkish wife sent my husband her number and address to pass on to me so I’m assuming I didn’t offend anyone if she is indicating she wants to hang out with me again. I still maintain it was a perfectly normal question.

Junebug! Why have you not been blogging as much?
In the amount of time it took to write this post, my crawling Baby Bug (has been crawling for about a month) had crawled to the Foyer, spit up and was playing in the spit up while also sucking on my flip flop. Yep, in the running for Mother of the Year!

Don’t know who David H is, so can’t comment. Yes, the joys of mother hood. As you grow older you don’t worry about little things – such as are you saying silly things, but I think it better not to grow up too quickly. Just enjoy those lovely mothering days. Very envious.
I love that you don’t know who David Hoff is! Gives me a little hope for humanity.
