The prompt for 30 Days of Photographs today is Kafkaesque. I was super psyched because I am a Kafka fan. I kept my eyes peeled for something worthy of Kafka. One day I was feeding Baby Bug and inspiration struck. My favorite Kafka piece is A Hunger Artist (or A Starving Artist depending on the translation). My daughter, who is obviously not endanger of being a starving artist, was eating. She had a bit of a head cold which caused her to have tears fall. A tear landed on her shirt making the bunny look like she was crying. I tried to get a photo but if you had ever been in the middle of feeding a 1 year old than you know they can be very demanding and wiggly. This was my best shot. See the tear in the eye on your right?

Why is the rabbit crying? Because she is afraid of being eaten? The tiara is messing up her hair(hare)?
OK. It was all I got. It screams Kafka to me for some reason. Do you know the reason? Am I even close?

The rabbit is crying because she’s destined to slowly fade away with each wash cycle.

Not before I get my money’s worth out of her. LOL Actually at the rate Baby Bug is growing she gets to wear everything about 3 times.
I didn’t think Baby Bug would be the sole owner of this. You’ll pass it along to a friend or thrift shop and it will be worn until the rabbit is completely gone.
It’s especially sad that the sparkly crown will be the first thing to fade.
Yep. It will get put on the mommy clothing train. Currently have three bags at my house about to be sent to their next stop. LOL
A purr-fect interpretation.

I see the tear – that’s how I felt when trying to come up with something for today’s theme!

Hey, as far as I’m concerned you could put up ANY picture today and it’d be fine. That said, I DID see the teardrop and it worked great for the prompt.

Well, it is futile to try to keep a baby’s clothes clean… the never ending cycle of laundering can be rather depressing.

I’m seriously impressed you were able to get the photo of Phi’s tear on the shirt making the bunny’s right eye look as though it’s crying.
GREAT JOB!!!!

LOL You are right. The average person would not have a clue who this guy was. I was minoring in Literature when I got my BFA and I had started on my Masters in Literature so I have read many books/plays most people haven’t.
The rabbit is clearly crying because it’s incredibly hungry, yet forced to sit by as its wearer is eating so much food they’re crying from it.

I want to know where you shop, because that is exactly what type of shirt I would even like to have for myself!

I’m a thrifter/consignment sales/facebook coop junkie. However, this freaking adorable shirt was from Target. It is the Disney line (gasp) I know! I couldn’t believe it either. I try to stay away from trademark/commercial stuff but it doesn’t say Disney except on the tag. My absolutely favorite line there is Gwen Stefani’s kids line. LOVE IT!! Baby Bug has about five of her outfits. I have a lot of fun dressing her. I’m going to be sad when I lose that control. LOL
I suppose that in our own way, each of us longs for attention in self-destructive ways that trap us in a cage of our own making and put us on display in the carnival of life with the rest of the menagerie. If we’re lucky enough to find enlightenment (contentment?), however, we can escape our tragic need to be validated by others before we destroy ourselves. But if we’re not so lucky, we often end up with tears in our eyes, or worse.
Anyway, I’m sure you stopped her tears soon enough, and that her shirt wasn’t permanently stained.
Interesting take on today’s prompt, Junebug.
