Oh Look! A Shiny!

by Junebug

As I struggle to find my way back to my blogging mojo, I decided to jump in on the 30(+1) Days of Photographs with this fun group.  Today’s orders were to find something shiny.  I tried to get a good one of my hubby’s bald head but it wasn’t shiny enough for photos.

This morning when I let the dogs out (yep, it was me who did the deed) I thought the moon looked beautiful and shiny.  Why can the beauty of the moon rarely be captured?  I know I have horrible cameras but still.  This is the best image I could capture.  It doesn’t truly portray all the lovely strips of clouds silhouetted by the shiny moon.  Instead it looks more like the evil eye tower from the Lord of the Rings.  LOTR is on my mind since doing a 4 mile mud run this weekend.  There were parts where we are trudging through long stretches of mud paths in the woods and I said, “I feel like I am on the road to Morder only I don’t have a cool mission to destroy a shiny ring.”

Want to join in on the fun?  It’s not too late!  Take a picture of a shiny, post it, hop over here and link up. So easy my Grandma could do it.  Well, if she were alive and not a shiny she could do it but you get my point.

Wow… you actually managed to take a photo this morning and get it posted? I’m impressed! (Good call on your husband’s pate, June!)

I love the Harvest Moon. Shooting through clouds isn’t easy but you’ve caught her well.

Welcome aboard the crazy train!

Ohh, I love the feel of this photo, very LOTR indeed! Great job! I’ve tried to take so many photos of the moon, and I am NEVER able to capture it.

That is an amazing shot. Looks like something out of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.

Hello fellow participant – I think I might have saved that photo for the challenge topic of “blackout.”

Of all the things I’ve photographed, non is more elusive than the moon. Still and all, I believe you captured a very moody shot here. Nice work.

Of all the things I’ve photographed over the years, none has been more captivating or more elusive than the moon. You, however, have managed to capture a very moody moment in it’s cycle. Nice work, and welcome to hell.

My blog is a “mistakes are ok -> no one is going to die” zone. :-) I can read a post no less than 10 times before I post it and only after I hit publish do I see the glaring mistake.

Hey, at least you got the moon in yours. When I tried to take a picture of the moon for the last challenge, I ended up with nothing but sky. Well done!

Cool! The moon behind the cloud and it makes spider like shine.

I have never been able to get a good photo of the moon. It always looks bigger to my eye than the camera’s. I love your photo today.

Exactly! The moon looked so big yesterday but if I zoom in to take the shot it looks weird. I guess some parts of nature are meant for humans to blog about rather than photograph.

Very eerie shot. I love it! It’s very Steven Spielberg. Reminds me of Close Encounters.
