In my broken toe is finally healed euphoria, I signed up for a challenge. 13 races in 2013 a challenge presented by Jill Conyers. I might not be right in the head. Possible brain damage from the pain meds I took for the toe. While I’m not a great runner nor is it my favorite workout, when I am training for a race running works for me. I need the motivation of having a goal. I could do hot yoga until the day I die and be a happy woman or Zumba three times a week. I’m not a great runner. I’m slow. I’m awkward. I’m twice the size of most runners but I get out there and I do it. It helps me stay healthy ->Big Win! Plus, the races are fun. I love getting out there with my friends training for a race. Occasionally I will even have a day where running is easy. I will think “Wow. I might be a runner.” but the next day I will suck wind and realize I’m simply a wannabe runner.
Well, this wannabe isn’t going to give up. I’m lacing up my shoes and hitting the pavement for 13 races in 2013. What to try it? You can still sign up until the 6th of January. They are even hosting 4 virtual races throughout the year so not all have to be actual races. It can be any kind of race 5K, 10K, 1/2 or full marathon, mud run, color run or trail run.

January – Richmond Hill Resolution Runz – 3 mile
February – Critz Tybee Run Fest – 5K
– Shape Diva Dash Atlanta – 5K
April – DIVAS half marathon and 5K in North Myrtle Beach – 1/2 marathon or 5K
November – Savannah Rock and Rock – 1/2 Marathon
December – Talmadge Bridge Run – 10K
I still have plenty of races to look in to and choose. If you run in GA or SC and want to meet up for a race, let me know.
