My third week of Mamavation and my second week of results. Last week was my first time attending Mamavation TV. It was fun but hard for me to attend since it is at 10-11:15 PM and I have to get up at 4:45 AM for Spin Class. I might not make it every week but I’m going to give it a shot. The support from all the ladies of the Mamavation sistahood is invaluable!!
It wasn’t my best week last week. I hit it hard and it smacked me back. 5 AM Spin Class is rough to make but I love spin because 45 minutes later you are done. I got in my first run/walk since my broken toe. 3.1 miles in 1:02. Not my best showing but not bad for a first run after three months of sitting on the couch watching a bone heal. Feels good to be in the saddle again. Sadly I didn’t eat much and sort of lost all my energy. I even napped two days when my daughter napped. I loathe naps. You would think at my age I would know better and not make this rookie mistake. Shrug. Not all things get better with age. I planned my meals more this week and hope to put in a better showing. My weight loss was minimal only .2 pounds. Considering I thought I would gain -> I’ll take any loss no matter how small!
I joined a new strollercize group this week. It seemed pretty good. Baby Bug was not a fan. She kept screaming and fussing. During the 2.5 mile run/walk if I stopped moving she would start screaming bloody murder. I felt like I was working out with Jillian Michaels minus the cussing. They started a new challenge this week. For the next 12 weeks we have to give up something for a week at a time. This week it is any beverage other than water. We all put in $20 and if we mess up at any point a $ amount is taken from our $20. At the end of the challenge if we didn’t cheat at all we get back the whole $20 or whatever is left over after a cheat. Each week we draw a different $ amount. This week if we cheat and drink anything but water we lose $8 of our $20!! So no coffee for this chick. I am probably not going to be a very pleasant person by Wednesday.
I think I am up to three challenges at this point in January. My thinking is to try anything and everything to stay motivated. This strategy might bite me in the ass later but I have to try. Do you have tricks for keeping your kid entertained in the stroller while working out?

Congrats on the weight loss!!! I need to get my butt into bed earlier, too

As much as I love coffee, I think getting to bed earlier is going to be way harder. When it is time for bed is when I feel like I’m finally getting stuff done.
I couldn’t do a switch to water only – I love my coffee, tea, and have trouble getting plain water down. Good luck I hope you get your $20 back. LOL

I’m afraid by the end of 12 weeks I might be lucky to get 50 cents back. I have no idea what the other sacrifices are yet.
ZOMG! GIVE UP COFFEE???!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

I know!!! I might die. Of course, if I could sit in a lovely coffee shop and listen to the awesome conversation you heard this morning there is no way I would be able to make it. Luckily or unluckily there are not currently any good coffee shops near me. I have to go to the airport for Starbucks.
So proud of you for setting goals and going about them however you can. Planning is always best so that you can set your mind on what you want to accomplish. Best of luck this week!!

You are so right. Planning is key and usually lack of it is my downfall.
Way to go Junebug, I don’t know where you find the energy.
I just like saying the word strollercize. Also, I am super proud of you, Junebug!

What is Zumathon? And have you taken measurements? Sometimes when the scale doesn’t move, the tape measure does! <3 I hope you have an amazing week!

Zumbathon is an event where people pay like $10 bucks to get in and there are 3-5 different Zumba instructors and we all dance for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. I did take measurements on Monday so I will be able to check that later.
